The Gentle Maple

Her battered cliffs
eroding
tell
of timeless drifts of coastal swell
As upward
rising
wholesome mist
coheres
with life's
advancing fist
~
Above
her gentle maples
frown
her autumn bliss now shades of brown
Her glory
fades
through misperceives
distortion
crushed
to rotted leaves
~
Across
the mistral'd
comber
lakes
her foehn of wistful soul awakes
In deathless hush
of dual
mistakes
the gentle maple
sighs

I really love this. I like the way you said "the gentle maple sighs". Also, the
brown color of the font really adds to the poem.
