We may be the only nation
whose children have to be
cajoled, reprimanded, even threatened
to sing the national anthem
every day at 7.45am
except on National Day

You mean to tell me that the only day that they don't have to sing the national anthem is on National Day?!? My goodness! I'd have thought it would have been the other way around!

Warm hugs,
Linda

Argh, back to the drawing board on this one! I meant to say that the kids here don't sing with pride their national anthem until National Day comes along...so truly we sing with our hearts once a year

the national day organisers are organising a writing contest...i'm trying to write something bookworthy..I wanna win 2 tickets to the parade!!

...except on National Day
when all voices sing as one!

~*~

Kaile, I think it's that way with most Nations...

but there are a few of us...
the oddballs...

You know us...you find us whistling the National Anthem in quiet times....

and more frequently
in anxious times....

Hugs, Kaile!

I sure hope yours is easier to sing than the USA's. Don't fret, I think it's a fairly common affliction.

Yeah, the amendment sounds better... The first one there made me sit up and recall the good old days, with the conclusion that national anthem is sang by school children everyday at 7.45am except National Day because National Day is a public holiday!!!!!!!! No school, so no need to sing the anthem at 7.45am
