If I could ever wish for someone
To keep me smiling each day
To hold my hand and comfort me
In the little words they say
If I could pick a treasure
That means the world to me
To make my fortunes seem endless
To set my journeys free
If I could pick the right road
To make my future bright
Traveling in perfect harmony
While searching for the light
If I could pick a best friend
A lover to be true
To walk beside me in life
To keep my skys blue
If I could reach out and hold you
All cuddled in your chest
Showing you all the love
Forgetting all the rest
The rest of the world that surrounds us
You and I it will always be
Making a life together
The future is all I see
The path sometimes looks dark
Both of us may even cry
But together we can conquer this
As long as we always try
The miles will seem to shorten
The memories will soon become bright
Walking beside each other
Through the day and each night
So... always remember my love
That surrounds you each day
The last smile that I gave you
Before we parted on our ways

Well said! reminds me of someone i know now going through a hard time, but seems like shes blind and doesnt know it's dark.

well there is a idea for another poem!
