Anvil

In the nocturnal hours of darkness there is
a lonely burden that weighs heavily on my chest
Its mass crushes my ambient thoughts to
a suffocating cliché of
reminiscent reminders and
inevitable occurrence.

This conscious dream has made me drenched with the
lament of love’s saddest page.
I long to sleep into a delightful escape;
but endless is this hopeless nightmare of actuality

The light of a blue moon is dispirited with its
arrangement of cardboard thoughts and dead roses
Soon this diurnal plight will be lost and so will my heart,
left alone
with this anvil.

In the darkness, that anvil seems to be more profound, more weighty...I know. This is a powerful write, and leaves room for personal contemplation.  And Welcome to Passions, as I see you are new here!!!

Accept these small gifts from my gypsy heart  ~~S~~
