Corona Del Mar

The land and sea are lovers here below the flowered bluff,
Nestled in a quiet curve of beach just for themselves,
Palms all standing sinuous and tall amid the blossoms,
Seeking up and up toward a softening cirrus sky.
Here a jetty, long and and solid, plunges deep
In motionless abandon until it can reach no more.
A wave lifts up to join it now, kissing wet just at the tip,
Slowly moves along the length, grows steeper, urgent,
Turning in onto the rock in growing strength until it reaches
Upward  to a rising fall, a rush of turning foam, and silent,
Silent, spends itself, a surge of soothing pearl, into the sand.

A keeper for me, as I have strolled along those beaches in the past, and you've let me walk in the sands again with this post. The Rockies are beautiful, but you've really made me miss the surf and sand.

Ed, I love the beaches in Florida, and I'm
sure I would there, too, from your vivid painting with words. It's a beautiful picture, too, friend.
Heart Hugs,

Hmmmmmmm....this left me feeling a bit unfulfilled?  Am I the only one?

A very provoking write...

Well, if one is unfulfilled, the waves do come in constant repetition and endless variety....some quite large, pounding the shoreline and engulfing the full length of the jetty, others small and gentle, the barest tickle on the welcoming sand....

I'm sitting here in a pre-fabricated cubicle but my ears hear waves lapping, my nose smells salt, a breeze blows soft against my face... and my eyes are delighting in the view. This is beautiful. *S*

I've been there...smiling from the memories. 'Tis a shame I left California midst a shower of rain with tears in my eyes...but, alas is life I guess. You brought back a few memories with this one Ed

California

“How was California?”
my friends all ask.
I smile as I reply,
“wonderful!”
“What did you see?”
A thousand pictures
pass before my eyes:
each line on your body;
the smile on your face;
the way you looked as you slept,
safe and content in my arms;
loosing ourselves in each other;
ordering room service so we
didn’t have to leave the hotel;
and watching the orange sun
set on the ocean.
“Well?”
I simply grin and reply,
“Everything.”

You take imagery to the max in this beautiful piece; I especially love the last two lines. Yet another keeper
