~*~

Hazy memories swirling in the
gauzy mists of long ago.
Fleeting images of a horse-drawn
buggy swiftly wending its way down
the litter-strewn streets.
The stillness of the night is broken
by the furious pounding of hooves
upon the cobblestones.
Clop, clop. Clop, clop. Clop, clop...
Sounds that forever echo in the
recesses of my unsettled mind.
Putrid scents assail my nose as the hot,
summer's night gives rise to the
putrefaction of refuse and human waste
that cover the lane ways.
Lamplights are dim and far between,
offering little illumination
to light up the way.
Contents of belly threaten to spew
with the violent rocking of the caleche.
There is a tangible sense of urgency.
We must hurry!
Faster! Faster!
Faster!...

Why?
Where?
Who?
When?

***

...another night passes by,
but still no answers...

Earth Angel
My goodness what did you have for supper.
Interesting write and description, maybe from a book you read lately. Not enough symbols to make a judgement.

Mr. T. ~

I too, wish there were more symbols. These are just pieces of a recurring dream...Past life recall, perhaps?

Girl, you need to lay off the anchovie pizzas before bed.
Seriously, Linda, this was so well done that I could smell your smells and see your sights.
Yet another masterpiece.

I suppose you are right! No more anchovy pizzas before beddy-byes!

I appreciated you saying that my poem peaked your senses!

Hey Linda, and to think I was going to crawl under the covers and do girltalk with you. Hmmm...not 'til that tummy of yours settles. I'll bring some Pepto Bismo.

Fascinating write ...

Hugs for peace, Marti

Absolutely!
You were lovely then
as you are lovely now!

But dang, those rides can
be tempestuous on the tummy...

Enjoyed this Linda!

Marti ~

See you tonight, girlfriend! Don't forget the Pepto! However, I must warn you that I travel astrally during my sleep. Don't leave though, for as Arnold Szwartzenegger says, "I'll be back!"

Warm beddy-bye hugs!

Why thank you for those rays of sunshine!

"Tempestuous" ride indeed. Not at all good for the tummy!

Raphael ~

Love that name! Love that healing archangel! Do you radiate green Light as well?

With a name like yours, you should be having some extra special celestial healing going on! Sorry, this poem is not what this nurse would advise when one is suffering from the flu! Putrifying human waste, spewing contents of tummy...Oh, there I go again! Please accept my appology! I am amazed that you even read my poem to the end! You are quite a trooper!

Sending you lots of healing Light,
Linda

(giggles in delight) I think any ride like that could make the tummy upset, hehehe, I haven't been sick in 7 years and don't get sinus headaches barely ever but do know this queasy feeling! (big hugggsssssss) Yay, you are a true angel and have the remedy in your heart, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Noah, I have also gotten a queazy tummy while flapping my wings during storms with lots of turbulence! Surely you must have experienced that as well?!?
