Another Mustang Saturday night fire engine red with the black vinyl top rolling again around the drive-through hop. Three bits and a dollar burning a hole in my pocket for an eight pack of miller ponies washing down cheeseburgers with my backseat cronies. Light out into the night, nothing much to consider. Butterfly bridge or the clay pits? Matters little with a miller, cheeseburger and teenage zits. The fire is high and hot, this party is hummin' "when did you say that Nancy is coming? Never mind, and pass this on, 'cause my head is drummin'". Springsteen and Sabbath, Steve Miller and Steely Dan they all sound the same in my 70's game. From one week to the next this is my adolescent domain. The buzz has moved from Stonehenge to munchy, time to Mustang back to that circle of plenty where cheeseburgers conspire for just a buck twenty. I remember all of it well, well most anyway. My youth is past now but still locked inside. And I just can't forget that Mustang ride. |

Oh yes, you transported me back in time. I remember Miller ponies. Cute little bottles of beer that could still get ya plastered, you just had to drink more of them. Hmmmm...can't say as I miss that part. This sure brought back memories my friend. [This message has been edited by WhiteRose (04-02-2003 06:26 AM).] |
