Caught myself up In reading poems today… But I found a strange, in that I was in search, In pursuit of something I could not name, for I could only find Want, and in my yearning, I discovered A solitary feel… For here, here are my friends of poetry, Some that I do not know as friends, yet… But in them I find promise… And this pervasive cloud Follows me, diminishing some of the gold That was once in the morning, And the brilliance in the sunset, Now lacking substance… I am cleaving to a memory… The real of me is now Afraid of a loss, times That will never be replaced… In finding someone Like you, Again…. ~*~ Yet… Even as the dust of this cloud Invades corners of my person where I would clean beyond reason if only I could Reach within…. I hear a voice…. Salted with liquid laughter….. Telling not only me, but others…. Walk on. Run. Skip. Live! For we will see you again, soon enough…. And the memory of your smile becomes poignant ~ we miss you so. |

I agree, Sunshine. So many people, so many thoughts and ways of thinking...so many things to learn. There are treasures here that enrich our lives every day if we are open to them. I have learned much here and am grateful to be a small part of it.... |

Yes, Sunshine. Even though I've only been here for a few months, I can feel some differences. Even though I can't say it as elegantly as you can, I do long for people to get back the feelings of peace and serenity. Some seem to be trying really hard to capture it again, but there are a few who seem to write things just to cause arguments and tensions. . . If this isn't what you meant, I still wanted to say it. Hope I'm not wrong in doing so. I'm fighting very hard to write things that won't cause arguments or discord. . . I can't express how wonderful this home of Ron's makes me feel, and I have seen how fair he is about everything. I would only hope to be that fair if I were in his shoes. "You are my Sunshine, My only Sunshine"..... Karilea, I wanna be just like you when I grow up. As always, you write, and we read in awe (No, no shock here. We expect no less) There is a Jamaican compliment which goes: "gal yuh good" and it certainly applies to you. |

Karilea, I can sure relate...i miss certain individuals on these pages badly and occassionally, the delightful times at the Corner Pub when the readership was more diverse.... how bittersweet the feeling of nostalgia is and how i relish and repel the ache.... |
