Why is it that my love is forbidden?
Why is it that people do not approve of it?
Why is it that the people so dear to you
Have to ruin it?
Why do we have to love people others chose for us?

I cannot be happy
I cannot be in love with the man of my dreams
I am not permitted to love him
Because he is not of the same faith
Or has some say religion
As me

My love is forbidden
But I can't give it up
I must fight for it
No matter what

It is better I be happy
Than Ibe depressed
I love this man
I wish my family and friends
Would catch the drift

My love may be forbidden
But I refuse to put out the light
But one day
My parents might put it out
As I lose my fight

Forbidden Love

I suppose many have fought for love and lost and many have fought for love and succeeded...there are so many other obstacles...such as differences in age, money, time, positions, the list goes on...James
