Trying to make my dreams come true

All Im doing is trying to make my dreams come true
But its killing me to see it through

I dream on many things
No longer wanting to play on the swings

Ive had to grow up so much
Never had a childhood of such

I do not expect anything no more
Because I'll end up being let down for sure

I try not to rely on people
So that I dont get hurt
But I end up getting hurt anyway

People never stay
I always feel like running away

I try not to show my heart
But everyone always gets a part

I grow to trust
I grow to love
But then I lose
Someone better, they always choose
