City in the desert Lighting up the night sky Magnificent wall of concrete Hoover is it’s name Feeding power to the strip With slot machines row on row Push those buttons Or pull that handle Result will be the same Losing your hard earned dollars Nickels, dimes and quarters Head back home empty handed Vowing never to return Hello city in the desert Here I am back again Lady Luck is with me Oh, this time I am sure Oh Lord please let it happen Just one time for me Megabucks or jackpot Doesn’t really matter A million here Or a million there Is still a dream come true Lady Luck found a new friend No it’s not me Head back home empty handed Vowing never to return To this city in the desert Well….. at least until Lady Luck comes back to me again |
