Walls

The walls that taunt, the halls that haunt
The shuttered window panes of want
The clocks that chime, the chains that bind
The power of love that’s left behind

The doors are locked, the sails are docked
Unwavering footpath has been rocked
No other place, no other face
Just plastered walls and halls to pace

I’m prisoner to the warmth of you
I’m sister to the misty blue
My eyes are victims of your charms
My quivering skin, to warming arms

My heart has cried the river dry
My tears have asked the question why
As embers burn, as heartaches churn
The feel of you is just a yearn

I could not hold a love grown cold
Now only memories I behold
But through the dust of prison’s must
There is a feeling that I trust

And it is this, that once held bliss
Is but the moment of a kiss
But sorrow’s hold, the sheen of gold
Dwells in the heart til you grow old

I would not trade the dues I’ve paid
And memories of the love we made
From time of birth, these joys on earth
Are few, but hold the greatest worth

Liz, you are the master of any theme, any emotion...this is beautifully sorrowful.

Take care,
Melissa~

Nothing, absolutely nothing can ever take away a memory, and that is the greatest wonder of life.  Those memories that we hold so dear to our hearts only grow dearer with age as a fine wine, and when we are thirty we can sip from them.

Liz, this is so filled with mixed emotions, but done in such a "Santos Style" of precision and grace.

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Elizabeth, there will always be walls in some places, many of which don't deserve to withstand there within the heart, but there will always be wide open spaces too where the sun will prosper and like sunflowers waltzing in the wind love can dance free! (wipes tears) Your golden heart is so deserving of this joy forever, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Elizabeth, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
