Layers I - Body Solid but permeable The easily violated shell Delicate and lovely To transcend a lower hell Unsatifying in self-appearance Appealing to unknown eyes Hands sweep across the surface To cause a moan or cry Bask in selfish glory Proud of attention got Remember you have beauty Even when the body rots II - Heart The continuous working organ Never gets a rest First slow, then fast in rhythm As emotions know the best Follow towards some happiness Abandoned to live in woe Broken and rebuilt again To "feel" but never "know" Hopes are always present Fears are quick to live The heart is attached to many strings That pull instead of give III - Mind The most restless is inquiring Curious, but half-known For though the thoughts continue Their not always shown Analyze the life-part To find the big "fit in" Afraid it's just a concept And end where we begin The mind can be deceiving Despite its bind to all Even if truth isn't real It can make us fall IV - Soul An idea of something more Not seen but still believed The last level is not of substance It's merely preconceived Told to be of beauty Capable to take away All the fears of unknown reals To dream of a better place Perhaps drift beyond words Maybe to dare return Live another life of levels And remember what is learned |
