I am allowed to pause Briefly On this space between conviction And convicted This Ponte di Sospari To add my own small breath To the sighs of the others Before I cross the span That separates palace and prison I enjoy? A last glance of this too proud city Of the Basilica San Marco Of the narrow calli Swirling in the bacchanal of Carnevale Seething with the cloaks and feathers Of the bauti And I hear the snatches of shout That are brought on the breeze “Bel la mas-querade!” And know, then She is there Bella Masqerade Dancing her “Ballo della Moresca” Wearing her mask Not the oilcloth of the bauta Hers, made from the glass of Venice Allowing you to see her features Obscured And so, I am led to dance Ironically The “Volo dell Angelo” As we descend into the wells The damp cells below On this, the “Sensa” The Day of Ascension As majnu kindly reminded me, (and have said so myself), I know nothing of poetry. And since I’ve been unable to find a forum for “pedestrian scribbles”, I thank all that have taken the time. |

hmmmm...pedestrian scribbles? Where, I certainly don't see any. No way, dear wranx. Your words touch the heart, the soul and the spirit of the reader. You paint pictures that breathe for us, images onto the page that delight us at times, sadden us at times, and sometimes make us smile. You have a gift. You reach into the mind of the reader and *touch* them. I think that makes you a grand poet. I always enjoy reading you dear wranx, don't ever stop scribbling, for your scribbles are poetry. This is beautiful. Perhaps we should name this 'pedestrian' poetry as a wranx. In the future workshop classes the members will study the wranx - a seemingly pedestrian scribble that touches the heart and explores an image with delicate grace. |

wranx...someone who can so wonderfully capture the mood and feel of place like this, if not a poet, then an artist! |

Wranx, Utterly beautiful. And, I suspect, if you wanted to, you could rhyme perfectly, as well as write any way you choose. Scribblings work for me, if you are the one with the pencil. Enjoyed, Hugs, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Know nothing of poetry eh? Well ignorance is bliss or genius in your case lol The more we learn the less we know in the case of poetry at least, you write naturally and with feeling and that's what I understand poemtry to be.. |

If this is knowing nothing of poetry, we should all aspire to mnemonic deconstruction. I enjoy a lot of the poetry around here, but there are maybe six people whose work I devour on sight -- you're one of 'em, and have been since my first visit to the site. In fact, you're one of the reasons I decided to join in the first place. I figured that if there were people who could write stuff like yours, I'd never lack for good examples. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

You are a master scribbler and I suspect there are many who would like to use their pens the way you do. Meanwhile I'm still coloring outside the lines. Don't ever sell yourself short wranx~ you've got a wonderful gift~ |

Aw shucks, I'm not in the habit of commenting within my own threads. But, I want to thank you all again for these nicest of responses. Kacy? I'm ashamed to say that I'm not reading a thing at the moment. (cept here). This came from listening to an old Robin Trower CD. Funny, huh? |

Beauitful! I think you know everything of poetry. Ti amo cari.... H [This message has been edited by WhileIWasGone (03-29-2003 08:37 AM).] |
