Rashaba The black storm tears the plastic wall, where liquid eyes in huddle’s keep, a house made from the cruelty of cold and a truck or two. Forgotten the laughter child of sticks and dash of fun, for the quiet joy of steam from the cooking pot. On the barefoot path, each toe takes the rocks unnoticed, with the burden of cracks where the sky shoots darts, they are a small thing. Forgive me this blue sky. |

ah..Martie...your heart shows... but I will not forgive you the blue sky...for it is there if nothing else to remind us that others do not have it and we have a responsibility because we do. well done my friend... |

Oh Martie, If I understand your poem correctly, I used to feel this way. Even when I was raising my children alone, and very low income (because it was only one income) and we were struggling just to ~survive~, I realized every time I took a shower, there were other people in this world DYING OF THIRST, and I stood there, seemingly wasting water, Between us, at least 80 (?) life-saving gallons of water daily down the drain....made me cry when I thought it...made me appreciate what we did have...made me pray for those who really suffer....for even we with the lowest incomes and difficult situations, poor health, or that of our loves ones, are still so spoiled it would seem....And, we do have a responsibility to THEM...And, I would like to think my country is TRYING to better the circumstances of the rest of the world, in many ways. This really is touching, Martie...thank you for this inadvertent reminder of how very blessed I am....I relieve my guilt by prayers of thanksgiving and let God handle the rest about which I can do nothing. ~He~ give me serenity, it never came to me by myself or my thoughts. And, usually when I don't get the peace I need, even after prayer, it means there IS something I can and should do. Hugs, Pat ![]() ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

If I tried to pick a favorite part, I'd simply be repeating the poem... for each line is priceless... but the true treasure is your heart... this is beautiful. *S* |

On the barefoot path, each toe takes the rocks unnoticed, with the burden of cracks where the sky shoots darts, they are a small thing. Forgive me this blue sky. ================================ When I watchthe news...all I can think of is the innocent families who now know the same terror and loss that we did here on 911.... you penned to poetic grace what we are all feeling in this time... thank you for that sweet poetess ![]() "and when we get to the pearly gates ... |

In the paper this morning there was a photo of a kurdish family of refugees, living in trucks and plastic tents, which the wind ripped, and rain so sharp it must hurt. I felt guilty for the spring day outside my window. I pray for those families, as well as our soldiers, in that harsh environment. "Rashaba", means black storm. Thank you for reading and for your replies...I hope my poem causes a pause for you, as the newspaper article did for me. |

Martie - you reach deeply into our hearts and minds with words that cause us to stop and think of all those that are suffering so due to so many things - if god can do anything about it I wonder why nothing gets done - guess it is up to us to do something - your words are something dear Friend - Paul |

![]() (tears fall down my cheeks) I knew what Rashaba was before reading this and knew I was going to cry reading this by the ominous feel of the title! (big hugggsssssss) I am praying ever so much for the innocent harmed down there and I only wish we could work for peace and save everyone, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martie, thank you for sharing! ![]() May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

'I hope my poem causes a pause for you, as the newspaper article did for me.' I was stuck in traffic today, beautiful spring day, top down on the car...and I started to get irritated because of the traffic. Then for some reason I thought of how many people would be grateful to have such complaints. So, yes...certainly a pause and more Martie. |
