The Shell and I

A tease of a breeze filled my shell.
And the sound was a wondrous quell.
Whispering the winds lullaby.
In the echoes of a mellow sigh

In high and low it sang to me
All the awe and sounds of the sea
The fall, form, the crest of wave
The power, draw and enslave

I could not take the shell from my ear
The language not mine but all too clear
It held me in a spell of enthrall.
Just within the magic of call.

I listened till the end of the sun
Shadows of night were hard on the run
I flung the shell back to the sea
The message was only for me.

Each shell has a different story
Perhaps yours will be con amore.

Seymour sails shells by the seashore? *L*

I picked up a shell on the sandy shore ...
held it to my ear to hear its secret store.
What I heard awed and amazed mere mothy me ...
the shell whispered a cadenced kissed *winkiewinkie*

Thank you dear Tink for the winkie wink
Shall we have some raspbery tea to drink.
I'll sadle up Randy and be right there
Over the land and through the air.

Listening to the ocean in the sea shells.
Beautiful dreamy write this morning.

Shells and sea and Sy...good way to start the day and:

"listen til the end of the sun"

A new way of describing sunset and who would think that still possible and a great feeling you created.

I like this a lot! Hugs, Pat

Seymour - I have a large conch(spell?) shell on the table right beside me. Aren't they beautiful?! Just like your poem this morning. Enchantress, could you please put the kettle back on? Honey on hot biscuits to-day! hugs, Chris

Sy, having grown up near the ocean I could picture you standing on the beach listening to your shell. Something I have done many times and you're so right, each shell has a different story to tell.

Hugs for peace this bright, sunny morn.

Just make sure that shell is empty or both you and its occupant are in for an unpleasant surprise! LOL

Seriously, sweet Seymour... I loved this poem... I've listened to many shells... but didn't hear this kind of poetry. *S*

Sy, you can convince me of a lot of things but hearing a seashell ain't one of them. You can't even hear Isabel in mid-scream!!
