Morning arrives, the still freshly scented sheets are all tangled, wrapping me in the memory of last night. Bones and sore muscles stretch as I reach over to your side of the bed. Empty and alone. Cold and rumpled, yet your scent lingers on them. Opening one eye, I peer over and seek where the pillow still holds the form of you beside me. Tingling all over as I remember what we shared -- the flavor of you upon my bottom lip -- the feel of those thick fingers where they clutched my head Memories are splatters of warmed molasses that slowly ooze around in my mind and tickle my senses once more. *To see the world in a grain of sand, and heaven in a wild flower...Hold infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in an hour...* |
