The While of a Wile

I tip toed through the whispering night
The silver dance of cold moonlight
Amongst the trees and dancing leaves
And listened to the babbling breeze

Spirits talked to ghosts in need
Sympathized their tales of deed
Quenched their thirst from wishing wells
Pointed out the tolling bells.

Gave them magic wiles to spend
Food for thought to reach the end.
Cheered them with a good goodbye
And wiped a tear of lonely sigh.

I could not follow them their way
Nor could I in the moonlight stay
But wished them well their way and back
And turned again within my sac.

And in a sleepy smothered smile
I turned to dream another wile.

Your wile ... makes me mothy heart smile ...
and makes me wish--with you--to spend awhile.

Mysterious but fascinating whispers of the night. I feel like sitting on a branch next to an owl taking in the magical wile ...
Beautiful.

Oh Seymour! I am late to-day!! I turned over to dream again for awhile....just like in your poem!! It was a lovely dream too. Your poem is simply wonderful. Is it too late for some blueberry muffins if my sister makes another spot of tea? hugs, Chris

You may not always dream in rhyme... but your poetry speaks softly into your slumber. *S* No wonder you can be so prolific... and maintain such standards of excellence! *S*

(big hugggssssssss) Wouldn't it be so relaxing if we can wile away every afternoon and all the while not have to have it any other way? (sigh) This is marvelous, sweet friend, it's a shame deceit can come into play, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Seymour, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
