~ By Sue ~ I had my tulips As beautiful as can be Some yellow and red I had to leave them behind Now they will all be mowed down Hours I spent planting A sight just for me to see They were my pleasure It breaks my heart just to think The pleasure taken from me There will come a day I will have another house To plant more flowers A pleasure that will be mine One that I will always keep Some yellow tulips For each one of my dear friends A friendship garden And for all my feathered friends A birdbath in the middle Some shelter there too To protect them from the cold For the winter months This dream I will always keep Until it does someday come true 3-25-03 |

Oh, Sue, this one hurts. I could feel your pain. You are so sweet, friend. I hope and pray that one day all your dreams and more will become realities for you, Sweetie. You are so tenderhearted and compassionate. Thank you for sharing this part of your heart with us. Heart Hugs Ethel |

Sounds like a garden divine. I miss mine as well...the loving tending to it, the anticipation of seeing the fruits of my labor blossom and grow...You wrote so beautifully of this... If you do not have the land in which to plant the seeds, perhaps you could plant the seeds in your heart and watch that garden blossom and grow... Love & Light, Linda |

Sue - as I said in my reply to your comment in my Haiku, go treat yourself to some tulips now! Never forget your love of nature as it proves to us just how strong and resilient we really are. I know. Once upon a time, I had a garden taken from me, and I was heartbroken. A bouquet of family and friends taught me to be strong, and now, some time later, I have an even more beautiful garden(to me anyway).....just as my sister Enchantress said!! Take heart, dear poetess. hugs, Chris |
