It's how we approach
one another -

Hungry for the scent of our
desires...we pause...taking measure
of all that lies within the space
between us.

We breathe this distance in.

Drawing closer in our steps...closer in our longing...closer in
our hunger...closer.

We stop...just short of touching.

Any farther and we would cease to exist.

We would merge in the fulfillment
of all that we desire.

For now...the approach
is enough.
