birds and bombs storm the nighttime sky, sundown shedding, blood flavored wine, a toast - to life, to death, and the fine line between, as their voices vie to be heard, parallel dicthomies on paths, side by side, remind even at childs play demons and shadows thrive, behind the seesaws back, dandelions finding springtime, peek from city sidewalk cracks, needles littering project flowerbeds, stuck on asphalts of black, schoolhouses, porno palaces, an ordinance between them, still stand almost door to door, sitting pretty on empty trees, waiting to surprise, gifts of the season, in store, make this war stop, let them watch the cycles metamorphasise, would they even care or feel, like me, blown away - in awe - by the renewal of life, scatter me in fields of sunflowers, rain washes tears onto dry earth, i dont want to live in vain, i ache to grow with life again, towering faces in the sky silly looking flowers, that smile for children passing by, standing tall and gawky, as simple diversion for their knowing eye, as surely sadly, more bombs will always fall.......... inkedgoddess - and they are falling and falling and most likely continue until it's over... A shame it is that in this century we still live with war... BC |

Very strong poetry and a strong message as well. I echo BC-- it's a pity that we still live in a world of fighting. Nicely penned. *Krista Knutson* |

There are no words to explain the bombs...or the war. Even those that see a reason, cannot understand the harm. You did a great job with this. I especially liked the sunflowers diversion for children. As I consider myself among them...and you too. TD |

Super poem. It breaks my heart to see us have to go to war. I pray for those men and woman that are fighting. |

Everything must have its checks and balances ..... in life, in death ... in hope and in despair. Lets hope the seeds of our actions are enough to feed coming generations. |

Michele, I liked your comparisons; this is so well written, too many thoughts to point out just one...but I like this: "I ache to grow with life again" Can relate....Really enjoyed the entire poem. One of your best. Hugs, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |
