You are the striped umbrella
saving my place on the sand
keeping me cool when the temperature rises
my fashioned summer wear.

You are the sunscreen on my lips
and the subtle pleasure that pleases
the salt spray playing misty for me
a sail away for just a day
blowing offshore in the breeze.

You are my standing reservation
my favorite getaway vacation
anticipating
my blanket turned down by the sea.

You are the glow of sunshine on my cheeks
penetrating the soft spot underneath
you are the tulips and daffodils
lying in wait for spring.

You are a whisper in the rustling
on a bed of golden leafs
the fireside warmth of winter
wrapped around my hearts content
that takes the chill away.

You are the sweet spin of cotton candy
my sugar coated mischief maker
a ticket to ride a little longer
the ping pong ball landing in a bowl
go fish.

You are the featured attraction
a thousand pennies for my thoughts
the ringer of my bells
my summer fare
my tilt-a-whirl.

Forever my love
as long as it lasts.

~*~

Hi Lori!
I would have to choose the same lines as my sister if I had to pick favourites.
Such a happy read..I felt as though I were reading this on a ferris wheel.

(smiles) Oh Lori, this is lovely, sweet friend, this had me imagining I was out on Laguna Beach soaking up the sun and going out to the carnival in the evening and the cotton candy got stuck on my lower lip but the love I imagined always felt sweet! (kiss on cheek) Yay, I love this, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lori, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Well, Nightshade and E have had their say
So I'm in good company when I join in praise for your close.  The entire write is a noble tribute to deep feelings in  you.  It is a pleasure to read your work.  Ken

Ah sheesh now that I've edited this a thousand times, hey that's a penny for my thoughts but it certainly isn't a feather in my cap.

Dang Michele, you are too much fun.
We could be dangerous, then again we could paint the town in just the right colors.
Thank you girlielocks~

Aww Lauren~ thank you for the lovely.
I need a vacation also, this little mind trip doesn't really cut it. But it's all I've got to go on.  Hugs you~

Ken~ Well yes, we're all in good company!
All for one and one for all.
Thank you kind Sir~

My pen is in perpetual training and runs a bit too freely at times.  I have to round it up and rope it in before it threatens to run away with my emotions.  (too late maybe, but it sounds good anyway)    Thanks BC~

Forever is a lot to hope for, but I'm holding onto my ticket.

The person I'm referring to lives in the heart of me... I'm either my best friend or my worst enemy, it's like the water colors of my love that blend and bleed into one another.

Thanks again WhiteRose~

Lori, what a beautiful sunshiney, beachy poem I
almost missed....a poem having one of my favorite places on Earth....the beach.

I love the beach, daytime or night. And, I love poems about it, too. Thank you for this one, sweet bluesy lady.

And here it goes back to the top.

Hugs,
Ethel
