I thank you for your love. I don't know how I could ever repay you. I thank you also For your forgiveness But you've forgiven much too much And I've given much too less. How could this Ever be considered fair? Your love for me Seems too much to bear. Mostly when I ponder All that you've done for me, I come to wonder How any could let this be. I do not deserve The love you've given me. You do not deserve All the pain I've caused for you. Why, why do you continue After all the pain I've caused you? I'm so very, very sorry. I can't bear the thought of hurting you. I really am trying, I definitely am fighting, But this is a battle I am struggling to win. Most of the time The future looks dark But I am determined And I am GOING to win. I am not worthy And yet I ask: Please be patient And help me do my best? And so I thank you For all that you've done. I'm so very sorry For disappointing and hurting you. |

Shlee, This is so heart touching. I never know if a poem is a current personal experience. The love given in this poem sounds like true love...even though hurtful behavior was involved. I liked how the character is trying so hard. But, we all deserve to be loved, regardless. Remorse and sorrow sometimes good learning tools. Sometimes, though set us backwards again. This reminds me of people I know and addictions. The best any one can do is one day at a time. Really liked this for you captured very true feelings. Hugs, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Thanks Pat. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It is a personal experience between my best friend and me, as was my first post. It is and yet is not current. It is something that we are constantly working on but we have blessedly made good progress. It's nice to know my poems are liked. Majnu-I'm pleased you found it different and fresh. I like to capture things from different perspectives |
