First there was the fire.

And lovers gathered to
watch the flames.

Soon they were drawn to know
the heat -

But afraid to burn
they only stood before the blaze.

Then came the wind.

And unafraid it played across the flames.

The wind sighed with pleasure...and the lovers listened to this voiceless song.

And stepped into the fire.

I like this.  It has a nice balance between biblical, mythical, and folklore.

Then came the wind.

And unafraid it played across the flames.

I can only say of these two lines, I'm in awe. The entire poem is just a splendid write, truly beautiful.

I feel the flames encircling me and I discover that I shiver with pleasure in midst of this heat. These lovers are allies of the wind ... the duet resonates passionately ....
Enthralling!

(smiles) Oh Eric, this is lovely, sweet friend, this too had me feeling I was with the shamans and calling upon the fire to come and engulf our souls with the passion and strength! (sigh) I love the elements you fuel your words with, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Eric, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
