Saluting with misty eyes

Daughter, My Dear
As I look upon you
And I see you growing too fast
I know the wonder you feel
The fear in your eyes
Are products of what you notice
Happening in your world
The nightmares you have
Of being trapped
Beneath that tall building you watched fall
THe cries I hear at night
fearing that Daddy is going away to die
Because he was a Marine
And that is what they are doing now.
I am sorry, my Dearest One,
I cannot cause this pain to leave
This is a light I cannot turn on
No monsters will be chased from the dark
This is the world I have left you
And the pain you must endure
While all I can do
Is to hold you tight
And sing to you while you sleep

Random thoughts after singing my 8 y/o daughter to sleep after discussing world events. Why can't they believe in Santa Clause forever???

Hello Bradly

Your kind heart shone throughout your words and I have doubt your daughter idolises you.

Take care.......Sue

(big huggggsssssss) God Bless You, dearest friend, my prayers are with all the children in the world as it hurts me to see so many traumatized and victimized by this news and I only pray all their innocence can be held dear to them and as much tears and violece can be concealed from them as possible! (sad sigh) I send heart hugs out to you and your daughter, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Bradly, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
