somebody's dungeon

I wish I had the luxury
of simplistic fantasy.
The common dreams of youth
are lost upon my muse.

My inspiration now is set
hard and fast in thick cement.
I dream in faded tones,
and etch my words in stone.

Years have gone and now old age
has stolen the poetic sage.
Left a whisper of faded hues
all color drained, shaded truths.

Perhaps in my senility
I'll find minute serenity.

I consider it a "luxury" to be able to read your poetry for free!--as for the senility, it works for you! lol

Peace & Love,

Ringo, thanks for reading and for that bit of encouragement. It's nice to know that I have more to look forward to as I get older than just loss of memory, and loss of pretty much everything else too.

Hey sweets!  I think its fairly obvious that no one is buying into that senility thing!  Too much poetry and artistic beauty belies the claim.  As a matter of fact, your probably as far from it as anyone I know.  But anyway, the lines are wonderfully penned and exclusively yours.  Lots of love my dear.

Anne, I loved this poem, but I
love all your poems, don't I?  LOL

Seriously, Anne, like I told you
before, I'm really glad that you're
posting more than you were for a while.
All your poetry is beautiful. This one
has perfect rhyme...my favorite kind
of poetry, actually.

Thanks for sharing with us....

Heart Hugs,
Ethel

Waldo, my dear sweet friend, I am older than you, remember, and much closer to senility. I'm old, I tell ya!  As my grandson would say, "Grandma, you are the oldest person I've ever seen". Bless his little heart, I love him anyway.

Thank you for your very nice comments

Ethel,

You are always so very kind in your responses. Life has a way of taking twists and turns that sometimes leave us a bit befuddled, and confused. I've had a few of those of late.

I missed all of the poets here, and did not realize just how much until I came back, and had the sense of coming home, to a place where compassion, and understanding just overflow.

Thank you dear lady for your very nice comments.
