Oh, Poet
Oh,  Writer
the trees lay down
their   lives  for  you
dividing into parchment
and sheaves and reams
for your pen's sap
to ink your heart
across their
skeletons

OMG---you have filled me with so much guilt that I now have the worst case of "writer's block" that I have ever had in my entire life!!!

Seriously speaking, it is good thing that you have done by giving the trees a voice of their own--and I'm listening!

Great little poem!

Peace & Love,
Linda

Virginia, dear...
this is an exceptional write.
Would you consider this
as a book submission?

This is a rather interesting view on the whole process...
And one that was completely unexpected. Very nicely done.

(big huggggssssss) Oh Virginia, this is very heartfelt, sweet friend, one poet can always inspire another as if all poets minds were skeletons, then everything would cease to exist, and we all breathe so poetry is in us all! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, you have my muse vote, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Virginia,
so thrilled you have submitted...the book won't be the same without you and your poetry...

you know, the other day, i was feeling guilty over spending too much time at piptalk.com and wasting electricity as a result...i thought i shouldn't blatantly contribute to the rapid depletion of fossil fuels (plus my parents' bills)

loved this write

Yes, Virginia, I'm glad that you submitted, too. Reflections wouldn't be right without you in it.

I love this choice you made to submit, too, and my vote is in...

My vote for this beautiful piece of truth, I love the trees .... but if the paper was used only by the poets it wouldn't be as bad ....(you have no idea what waste I witness in the office! .... I wrote down some rules, sort of a Decalogue, but with little results!)

Interesting...just watched the movie
"Chi-hwa-seon" or (Painted Fire) about the 19th century Korean painter Oh-won and you should have seen all the paper he wasted trying to improve his art...James

You've got my vote!

Virginia, this is so simple, yet so clever and moving to a fellow poet, you've used an excellent metaphor.  I really love this and am also saving this in my library.

Take care,

very very clever write of theme...
wonderful use of personification, metphor and imagery...
well done poetess Virginia...
a perfect poem to reflect your work in the book...A true poets poem
