Chaac, Time, & the Yucatan Konrad read carefully the history that displayed time, and circumstance, before him… how heavy air hangs where ghosts walk, as if time, distilled, runs thick like blood in chase of coagulation… “Chaac, Jake”, he thought, as the fog lifted, clarity of time, space, happenings, coming clear, Chaac, Jake, two someones who could rip rain from clouds, leave ladies hanging in twilight, a thunderbolt of honor in Dillon’s eyes…. one with a history of god-like abilities, the other, history in the making… But Chichen Itza was Chaac’s home, as elsewhere stood Jake, but who knew, Konrad knew, as at the bottom of his pool, this pool, perhaps, answers could be found in the Cenoté…perhaps because it carried blues of royalty, reds of sacrifice, and this area’s henequen tied them all together…. It never failed Konrad, to notice the beauty of an area, where flamingoes rose like a sheet of sunrise, while jungle sounds made one realize they were not alone, or even to look back on the magnificence of Jake, but even more, to pick at the substance of misunderstandings, even when all seemed raveled in mystery, and time… Konrad waited, remaining in a self-induced limbo, for the drought to hit again, if only in his mind, if only would it be better if he knew, for sure, if one took the positive home, to him? to once again escape to the fog, would there be acceptance in his knowing? where all would seem clear in the mist of his mind. Although Iambe would understand, even if the fog didn’t clear. |

This was jam-packed with unique and colorful verbiage! Wondrously descriptive writing. You are so darn good--and you are worthy of your name, dear Sunshine--for your light--and write!--are pure gold! Peace & Light, Linda [This message has been edited by Earth Angel (03-20-2003 09:51 AM).] |

Do you know how great it is to get up in the morning and read something as well written as this? You are carrying this story along very well. Much enjoyed the morning read. ![]() ~Smiles & Hugs, Nancy~ ~ I've loved you forever, in lifetimes before ~ |

I had to read this a couple times to take it all in...so much lovely imagery..and then to let all the subplots and connections you are unraveling for us with a delightful intensity of old bonds and blood ties. very cool images and analogies in this poetess K ... the moth needs her passport for all the cool places you are taking us ![]() ![]() The Sun The Moon The Stars The Sky |

How do you take this tale to such far reaches then tie it all together so well in the end? Really liked this one Kari! ![]() |
