We live in a world where hollywood perfection is the ultimate goal,
Teenagers are starving themselves to look like a cartoon on the cover of a magazine,
A thirteen year old girl dresses like she's twenty-one and no one bats an eyelash,

~ Am I the only one who's scared? ~

Little kids take weapons to school and kill their classmates,
The blame is spread, but there are no solutions,

~ Are you listening? ~

A fifteen year old boy walks the street selling drugs,

~ Where are his parents? ~

At the same time his fourteen year old girlfriend is having an obortion,

~ Can anyone else hear me? ~

A man walks the streets at night duffle bag in hand carrying all his possesions,
Bet you didn't know he was a Vietnam veteran?

~ Am I yelling loud enough? ~

A little girl is sitting at the bottom of her closet scared, frightened, shaken to the bone,
What! Did she say it was her father?

~ HELLO, CAN ANYONE HEAR ME?! ~

Loud and clear. I'm sending you a cyber hug, 'though I know it seems to be a weak pathethic gesture when you are really frightened. Focus on your personal dreams, find something funny to laugh about, take care of an animal or another human who needs a helping hand.
Hello, there are many of us out here, and we do listen, we do care.
Peaceful thoughts to you, friend.

I don't care to watch the news anymore...it's too depressing...makes you wonder if the world's gone mad

I notice lots of things I don't like...you have listed some of them....how about a father that allows an untrustworthy drifter into his home to do minor repairs and then the drifter takes off with his daughter. What kind of father would endanger his family like that?   James
