With motives that remained unseen,
Your words appeared upon the screen.
You were my ultimate fantasy
Brought forth in a virtual reality.

Emotions I believed forever dead
Were suddenly awakened in my head.
And though it seemed quite absurd,
I savored each and every word.

While you shared your confessions,
I tried to dismiss your professions.
Soon I began to give over my trust,
Convinced this was more than virtual lust.

Then your words gained control of me
As you viciously attacked my insecurity.
Feeling trapped, I could not break free
Of this once sweet virtual reality.

And now your words no longer appear.
I'm in control and without any fear.
And yet there remains a part of me
That still dreams of our virtual reality.

Hello, and welcome, Patricia.
A very interesting post. Indeed, one I can relate to on some levels.

As Rex said, you did do a wonderful job...
and on a subject too true, and very real...
adding a depth of intensity as well...

a wonderful reminder to be careful
to whom you click with...

~Patricia~

~Welcome to Passions~

I've been away and playing catch up and can't find your original post so must be in a different forum. Great poem, but franky I wish someone would attack my insecurities, how else does one grow, virtual or not?

Pretty name! Grins. My maiden name is Herrick and written cursively it is beautiful and that's the only time I use Patricia, on some poetry.

So formal....don't you have a nick name???

Quite talented, you are, and I look forward to reading more of your poetry.

Hugs and regards, Pat

I not only enjoyed what you were conveying in your poem, but I also enjoyed reading it in the rhyming couplets!
