Saluting with misty eyes

He died today on a dark, lonely highway
All alone he watched himself pass
There was no one there to save him
No one around to help him along his way
Looking around he saw the ice
That was his explaination
He was too young for any other
Gazing back at himself
Realizing the time had come
His sentance served
He turned and walking
Continued on his way

No, there is no historical fact behind this... I was driving alone on a dark highway through some "S" curves, and this popped into my head. Man, I must really be morbid lol.

Too many people assume that because the poet puts a bit of his soul into every poem, it must be telling a piece of his life. Even some poets think this way.
