Already Buried

It's as if I am the alcoholic
being addicted to you,
addicted to my life
that I don't want to give up.

There you sit.
Here I sit.

I'm in pain, how about you?
Pain and fear and guilt and fear,
my heart pounding, knowing
the end is nearer every day.

What's a tear between friends,
one eye, then the other, trying
to remove you from my life.
Yes, I am already buried
in the memories of you.

Watching "28 Days" wondering
if there is a place we can go,
those of us who need love,
those of us who have love to give,
when all is taken away from us
but what we hold inside.

There you sit.
Here I sit.

Pain, and fear and guilt and fear...
are burying me today.

M

Maureen, the memories are sometimes so painful sometimes....even the good ones when the person they are made with is no longer around. Loneliness and thoughts of what might have been can torment the mind.

Heart Hugs to you friend,
Ethel

Pain...we all feel it,
we all live varying
degrees of it,
yet only you can
pen it so well. *s

When you think you have heard it all,
listen more closely.

Deep indeed. If you could see me, I would be standing up clapping wildly!
Wonderful read.
