I wrote this poem in response to the following lines from Seymour Tabin's wonderful sonnet, "Phases of the Moon" :
"For I am now in final phase
And overcome by backward gaze"

Sy, I will now take you back to those days...

With wave of wand
The clock reverses
You are a youth
Singing life's sweet verses

Full of vim
And lots of rigor
Your stride is long
And full of vigor

Your passions strong
With deep desires
Your want of wont
Fuels your fires

Your blood does rise
With morning sun
You're up and at 'um
'Til your day is done

Your future looms
With hopeful bliss
So full of promise
And life's sweet kiss

Your eyes are clear
And oh, so bright
They even see
The dead at night!

So full of might
And convincible
You were a force
And quite invincible

***Swoosh, Swoosh, Swoosh***

With wave of wand
I bring you back
To present times
Not times of lack

The wisdom gained
Through all those years
You share with others
Through laughs and tears

You've earned respect
And people's love
You're a Godsend
From up Above

You enrich our lives
With your poetry
Your sonnet's rock
They're the best that be!

Now you're back
To hearth and home
And that's the end
Of my little poem!
