The Shores of Alone

I waited for rose petals sweet
to drift upon my pillowed hair
I waited, but they never came
I slept without anything there.

I waited for the candle's glow
to flicker round my bed at night
illuminators of romance
but love was no where in my sight.

I waited until I got bored
and bought a sheet of roses red
some candles of a fragrant scent
it seems I must make my own bed.

Sandra,

I love this. So very true. Wonderful attitude. To nurture our ownselves, so important.

*nods* Good for you! Don't wait around to be pampered...treat yourself! Nice sweet smelling bubble baths...yummy sundaes...mmm, delicious. 'Specially with caramel sauce.

But I'm off topic, aren't I? Lovely poem.

That's true, sometimes we have to keep the candles burning and find our comfort in their glow so that we don't dwell alone in the darkness.   But still~~~

Nice poem Sandra, it's so good to read you here.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Sandra, I know this feeling ever too well too, sweet friend, I cry thinking about if I do have a dream girl how she must suffer waiting for me to be introduced to her out there and how I long to tuck her in and make her feel special! (sad sigh) I send angel hugs your way, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sandra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Oh yes, lil sis, all the waiting hurts, and making the bed is more fun with two!  This is my favorite...I love the feel, the softness, the longing, and the images. Great job!! (As Always!!!!)

That's how it goes sometimes....we have to go out and get it ourselves if we really want it. Well done Sandra! Wise words!
