A Watchful Call Vigilant, the eyes are there staring back with little care. Guarded for the unaware in watchful silence, solitaire. Poetic feed, attentive to shadowed meanings, misconstrue. Melding feelings, word fondue merged in silence, watching you. Each day's quest partitions, split fenced in feelings, hedged commit. Rhymed, these thoughts so tightly knit, looped and furrowed in silence sit. On the edge, time's nearing end when dreaming leaves no more pretend. Compromising to hasten mend of mix in watchful silence blend. I straighten, tall, and leave the blue behind me now, long overdue. Esteemed and fused and cherished view is all I have, what's left of you. Silence leaves a void of sense in meaning lost of present tense, continuance oft in suspense and past in rest, once on the fence. For constant staring, apologize in watchful silence for these eyes that lovingly have searched the rise each meaning of, what underlies. In secret, fragments ghost my will exorcising influence still. These watchful eyes seek out the thrill of constant silence, mine, to fill. In moments lull, they feel the draw no words in whisper, just the fall of thoughts that roam to christen all the views that sound a watchful call. Maureen, You know I read this and decided to tell you I liked the last three stanzas the best. I reread and decided, no it is the last four stanzas. On the third read my conclusion was this entire poem is excellent. It needs to be read more than once. So much here. I really like this a great deal. It is very good. Hugs, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Maureen, there is a lot to be heard in the silence...and a lot to be found in your words of your poetry. Heart Hugs, Ethel |

I liked the concept of word fondue, as well - words never fall into a vaccuum. |
