Take my hand Not because I held it out But that you reached for it In willing desire To touch and ground This spark of us. In finger bind Palm faced pleasures Of slow Yes… I am old. Driven less by groin Than by well worn mind It is tenderness my heart would find In embrace or lover twine Knotted Not in gut wrenched clime But in bows Over hands With loops of you Threaded through days and nights Of gentler times Reach for me And with quiet eyes See far inside the yesterdays That color mine but touch me please of your own design |

Ah, to be loved, so! With age comes wisdom. A well worn mind more appealing than a groin's ache as is the tenderness sought after that first spark. This is so special. May gentle eyes find you and soothe you and cause you considerable happiness and joy you've not known. Your poetry does leave one weak-kneed. Thank you for touching so deeply, always causing me to feel, often to the point of tears. They are good ones though! What gifts you give to us. Again, thank you, Hugs, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Pat.. your praise, though in my mind overly kind and undeserved by this poet, is geatly appreciated... I think as writers we would all like to know or think our words have in some way pleased or moved others... I can think of no higher form of praise than someone telling you they are. thank you |

Excellent, Sir. Your age is wearing well. "Reach for me And with quiet eyes See far inside the yesterdays That color mine but touch me please of your own design" And well I understand this plea . . . |

'Knotted Not in gut wrenched clime But in bows Over hands With loops of you Threaded through days and nights Of gentler times' Love that...'loops of you'. The place of content that I think this was written from has always alluded me. And so it read almost lyrically, like a melody I can't quite place... |

Driven less by groin Than by well worn mind These lines alone make this poem worth reading...I was mouthing "OOOOhhhhh", an impish grin on my face and thinking, "you don't say..." oh well, don't judge me..i'm still a hotblooded young pup...
