The Western Front 3/13/03 Here they lie Strait even rows Skin, bone, and mangled flesh Of the western front Here men weep For lost innocence And young boys cry For the need to age Here each step filled with caution and fear For who knows where death lies? And each movement filled with sorrow For now many spirits rise Here victims close their eyes And still see lights and chaos Victims open them again And still see a land torn Here no longer does beauty rest And peace no longer reality No longer a sight worth seeing Feeling no longer worth experiencing Here they lie Strait even rows Stone after white stone Of the western front ~*~I'm only a dreamer, with broken dreams, and only words to fall back on~*~ [This message has been edited by Dragon Mistress (03-13-2003 11:15 PM).] |

A sobering and saddening vision. Well done. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |
