I whisper something to the night.
I whisper -
A wish...lost against a thousand
falling stars.

I whisper -
A prayer...voiced unknown as if an echo
from the past - hollow of any true
meaning anymore - as it fades
within the night.

I whisper -
A plea...to only feel a little less
alone...a plea for arms that know
and hold me fast against this
passing wave of sadness.

I whisper something to the night.

And the night...the night...whispers
something
back -

The night whispers -
A wish...for me to search far and long
among the stars.

The night whispers -
A prayer...voiced in stillness,
unfolding in the subtle layers
of an echo -
deeper...deeper and falling
deeper still.

The night whispers -
A plea...to feel her evening breeze
as it brushes past to dry my
every tear -
A plea to feel the night itself
cloaked in hidden arms of
darkness...arms that only yearn
to feel alive against my skin
as it heats to loves caress.

I whisper something to the night.

And listen to the answer
