Saluting with misty eyes

0 posted 2003-03-10 08:07 PM

My G-d, My G-d why have you forsaken me
With the world collapsing down
I have turned to you
Yet you have loved me not
I have listened to your word
Even have I listened to your heart
And tried to understand for what purpose I am
When all else has gone
And you have been denied
I have followed you and lived by the Laws
Yes, I have strayed
I have pretended I did not know
Yet, I did know
And have returned each time
With sorrow in my eyes and repent in my heart
Yet you have not listened
I do not ask from you
Only to be with you when the end is near
And you have turned me away, yet again

My child, My child why are you forsaking me
With my flock collapsing down
I have turned to you
Yet you have listened not
I have yet loved you through all
And tried to make you understand my needs of you
When all otehrs have gone
And I have been denied
You have always been there at my side
I know you strayed
I have pretended I did not know
Yet, I did know
You would return each time
There's love in my heart and forgiveness in my eyes
Yet you have not noticed
I do not ask from you
Only that you know in your heart again
There is nothing together we cannot bear

(big hugggssssss) Fear not, dearest friend, He has never forsaken you, much rather He is always here for us all and we just fail to recognize that at first until we find solace in Him! (sigh) Just ask and He will always be looking upon you with warmth, yay, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Bradly, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Of course the last line says it all.

"There is nothing together we cannot bear."

Interesting how you wrote this conversation with Him.

Enjoyed, Pat

i think the beginning of that poem reminds me of some parts in cool hand luke when paul newman is screaming in the rain to god, and then he says, just what i thought, talking to myself in the rain. and then at the end of the movie he says to god, maybe i didn't do everything great but you got to admit you never dealt me a very good hand. you made me like i was. just what your poem reminded me of. (well at least the first part)

A conversation that many of us have had with him. The conclusion is that he IS always there even when we are not. Very true!
Well written!

A two-sided conversation.
Well said, Ringo. And it's
very relatable.

This reminds me of a sign I see on lots of churches these days... reversing God Bless America to read America, Bless God!
If we're so quick to jump to the conclusion that He's not listening everytime we ask and don't receive... how very ignored He must so often feel. *S* You've written this well! *S*

Only that you know in your heart again

==============================

those two lines speak volumes for both sides!!
Quite an emotive, spiritual piece here...
Well done poet Ringo!

Forgiveness is as much a part of loving as the giving.

A compassionate write Ringo, and then some!
