Picture by Josephine Wall

* * * *

Dedicated to Dave from Connecticut who wrote a poem for me after reading many of my poems.I was so very humbled by what he wrote so I thought I'd reciprocate by expressing my thanks in the best way I know how.

* * * *

I read your heartfelt words
From beginning to end
So many lovely words
From a faraway friend

Your words were very moving
And tears welled in my eyes
You touched my inner soul
As my heart grew in size

I hardly even knew you
But you seemed to know me
Through the words I had written
There was so much you could see

You put me on a pedestal
So very humbled was I
And as I read your words
A tear escaped my eye

Some people touch our lives
And so soon become a part
I thank you for your kindness
And the words that touched my heart

* * * *

"My friend is like a bark
rounding a tree
He warms like sun
on a Winter day
He cools like water
in the hot noon
His voice is ready
as a Spring bird
He is my friend
And I am his"

I am in motion
I am blue
Love is an ocean
I'm anchored in you

Sue, I'm so glad you posted this here and added the beautiful graphic.

You are special and deserve to have a poem written about you.

Hugs, Marti

How words can just make you feel so, happy, and yet so sad, is why I love poetry! Poetry can do so much, without doing much at all.

Read ^ there, because you are reading the wrong part!

Hi Suetang! How wonderful that this person was inspired by your work - and even more wonderful that you reciprocated! It makes writing poetry especially worthwhile - that exchange of warm hands holding a moment in time.

Definitely one for the book!

Love your pic, too, you look so happy!

The mutual expression of esteem that each of you have achieved is what many aspire to.

Nice writing.
