My Piano My piano is a crafty beast I love it well, it loves me least I toil there in servitude It clinks along with sounds quite rude When e’er I find approaching skill It smacks me down with fervent will And should I spurn and days ignore It beckons me; I beg for more Like one who loves a woman rare I try to show how much I care With trembling hands I softly touch The keys I crave to play so much It teases me to just come near And I’ll play tunes I want to hear. As women love all other guys It stares at me with smirking eyes. I can’t resist; I must return to feel all this scorn and spurn. What is this curse that pulls at me Try Chopin, Brahms and Liszt, you see? Through rubble and trouble and dark of night |

You know, I was once interested in playing the piano, and I could play a few songs.. But not no more. =( Anyone can write, But only poets can capture the heart. |

Kayjay, My bass does the same exact thing to me, and I have been playing for 17 years. it is amazing how the things that give us such delight can cause us the most agony, isn't it??? A very good write. [This message has been edited by Ringo (03-08-2003 10:03 PM).] |

My well tuned keys have turned to rust as I traverse times in search of dust for my mother was the soul of tune and all I do is seek the ruins... My piano sits in spite of me it sits in spite of poetry... it waits for fingers to touch its keys... my piano sits, in spite of me... ~*~ I know! I know! |

A blues guitar, a heavy metal bass, and a fiddle... man, what a combination that would be!!!! But, who would play the piano??? [This message has been edited by Ringo (03-08-2003 10:11 PM).] |

Oh Ringo...I would definitely play the piano, if I could be 1/10th as good as my mother was! She could sit, and play, and play...it was a challenge to us kids to GET her to sit there...because if we could do that, we could ask for anything, and she would just nod her head, for she was in her heaven then....! The challenge was, getting her there... music is polished with a piano.... |

hmmmm piano, bass, blues guitar and fiddle. Bill Monroe came to fame with disparate instruments. Gotta be a gig for us someplace. Through rubble and trouble and dark of night |

I understand this too, Kayjay...my piano has been my friend for years..it played my poetry before I could find the words. |

Thank you, Martie, for your note. All who quest to play an instrument have a similar struggle. That is the fun of playing. Through rubble and trouble and dark of night |

I have an antique upright...does that help? I'm not very good myself, but I play a wicked tambourine. ~Hugs, Nancy~ ~ Trace my body with your words.. |
