clear my place within this swill so I might build my dreams help me live in ignorance where "I" will reign as queen blind my mind to any truth for fiction's always best I long to be an unbeliever just like all the rest rape me with distractions dull my mind to peace arouse my base attractions let common sense decrease I'll opt for the illusion of a better place & never put stock in it 'cause I'm for the human race Though facts exist that we destroy whatever we may touch I'll still believe in my own dream- the facts don't matter much though news may offer little hope for a dying world I'll sit by watching idly and await my dream's unfurl the swill keeps rising higher it's hard to see the light but I'll learn to love the darkness like a creature of the night despite the promises it's clear that we do or die since lives aren't worth much anymore let's numb ourselves with lies: no more war, bombs, negatives no hunger, greed, or sedatives no uppers, downers, inbetweens no child molesters that we've seen, no aids, no killing, nor disease, no anything we cannot ease we are humans after all! & there the pride goes 'fore the fall... Heaven knocks on no man's door just suffering & death he'd comes to claim us one by one 'til not a soul is left & tell me when you get your wings like those who've gone before who did their dirty little things yet always hoped for more is there no payment for the sins if I'm to fly away to the master's loving arms? he's that easy to persuade? what an idiot god must be forgiving any crime mass murderers, rapists, evil beings who practice all the time on bended knee one simple prayer can cure world's terminal ills? yet humans punish harshly, life's such a bitter pill for the hopeless... I've found my place within this swill to do just as I please if we keep our blinders on perhaps we'll share the dream Sunkissed. [This message has been edited by Sunkissed (03-07-2003 07:37 AM).] |

Love this! BTW: (And, no, He is NOT that easy to persuade, in fact, He cannot be persuaded, at all). Hugs, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Thank you Captain for taking the time to read and comment. Thank you Pat. This was my sarcastic view of how small the world makes the True God. Marshalzu, I'm glad you like the poem. InkedGoddess, thank you for reading and the thoughts. Sunkissed. |

Hi, Sunkissed. I love the word and rhyme-play. Well written and thought out too. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |

It is exactly so For man is his own god Free to mete out justice With an iron rod To force his will on nature To do what he may please Every lust he may feel His greed he may appease At his own grave peril Does mankind act this way On the day of reckoning Most surely he shall pay I loved this piece and agree completely with your point. Keep on posting! |

I suppose it's necessary that faith be blind. I certainly trust no human with the answers. Enjoyed. |

Sad state we're in when it comes to rose colored blinders. |
