Mexico isn’t Texas And I’m not cut out for Tequila. I’d read the letter, Folded it back Then read it again later After a few shots of the best “Juan’s’ Cantina” had to offer. Being half numbed by the worm Didn’t take the sting out But it did make me want to move. ………………………………….. It has been a long time since I truly felt this way Wondering why the leaving made me want to stay The times that I have with you seem to quickly fade But living isn’t easy with the choices that we’ve made I can’t turn the clock back to change the way we are You can’t undo words that always left a scar Still it seems I love you no matter where I am The history of us turning hope into a scam I hear the road a calling me to be on my way I’ve felt the words inside me and still can not say Why I let you hurt me just the way you do ………………………………………………….. I stopped outside of Houston Filled the tank and read it one more time When the bullet rolled out of the glove box And I picked it up off the truck floor Scratched on one side of the lead Iambe On the other Travis I slipped it in my shirt pocket And decided to head for Arizona There was a gal there who told me about her grandmother Being a healer Might not be a bad idea To look for magic Again [This message has been edited by Cpat Hair (02-16-2003 03:22 PM).] |

Glad we didn't have to wait for this. I love these characters and rip your heart out interaction of them. (I still haven't read the beginning of them in archives) Sighing here...this is so good. And, of course loved the last three lines. So many ways this can go it is going to be enjoyable to see what you come up with next. Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Ron--I think I have some back issues to catch up on. Feel like I'm coming in after the first intermission. Still, you got me interested, as usual, with your stoy telling, and the rhyme in the middle to seperate, perfect! |

Thanks to you all for indulging this latest round of Iambe and Travis... I do appreciate you taking time to read and follow the convoluted plot line. I especially appreciate the ones who have written something to add to this ongoing tale.. created characters and wove their own take of the tale into the stories they tell. It is a great compliment to me that something I have written or created could inspire the kinds of pieces they have all shared... Now..Iambe goes back to fixing George's latest breakdwon...Travis goes to search for what it is that is missing in him...and I'll leave them to their own devices for a while.. thank you again... It is appreciated. |

Ron, thank god for 2 ft. of snow *rolling eyes* and a forced break. It gave me plenty of time to read all of lambe (I think I got all of them). incredible writing. It was kind of weird to read. In many ways I saw myself... and others in my life. Then I read that you were retiring her... I guess because of "scary smooth" you just HAD to revisit a lady hidden in grease. You truly have a talent for captivating an audience and piquing (sp?) interest. You SHOULD consider doing it professionally...IMHO. Thanks...for the allowing me the honor of meeting lambe [This message has been edited by KristieSue (02-17-2003 07:27 PM).] |

no honor in meeting her.... and she is and always has been a multitude of people I have known or met blended together..so it des not surprise me a great deal you found parts of others you know in her or yourself... but it does please me, for that is one mark of having created the character well enough for others to care about them., you indeed must have been bored... to go back and try to read all the Iambe... lord girl now I know you need some scary smooth.. just to wash the taste of all that dust out of your mouth.. ( chuckling) thank you... it is appreciated and I think one of the nicest replies I have ever received... to know you actually read that far back.. |

I haven't seen them all, but when I have time I'm going to try to catch up too! This is excellent, Ron. You do have a gift for storytelling and giving depth to the characters! I enjoyed this very much! |

Ron, No "Scary Smooth" today... just homemade ice cream from snow and mac n' cheese. Spent all day in the living room on the pc reading and cathching up....and cleaned the kitchen. Will spend tomorrow cleaning.... I loved going back and reading. Honestly, I read more than just lambe.... :-) You are a true writer at heart. |

Capt. Ron? Personally, I think you should take all the characters and the story-poems and make them into a book, then I wouldn't have to look in all the archives for them. I could just buy the book..... . . In the meantime....what archive or forum will they start in? . . Thanks for these. They are very enjoyable.... "Love makes the world go around" |

Enjoyed it all, for what it is and for the expertise in the telling, but my favorite lines are these: Being half numbed by the worm Didn’t take the sting out But it did make me want to move. ………………………………….. It has been a long time since I truly felt this way Wondering why the leaving made me want to stay You ol' master you! Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

(sigh) The scars and afflictions will always be engraved deep down, but there is always time for magic and if you believe in it, you will find it! (big hugggsssssss) Here's to raising Arizona, let the road trip commence, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ron, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |
