on the open road with the wind blowing in my hair

in the end
i walk across the broken steps
of my life
hoping to meet a beautiful girl
walking down the street
but the myth of the perfect woman
leaves me alone
thinking of you

and i look outside
up into the vast sky
and i see thunderheads controlling it
but back behind the thunderheads
i see blue
pushing the darkness off into the distance
and in that blue
i see you
