somebody's dungeon

0 posted 2003-03-05 02:27 PM

The sidewalk is melting into grass
  as shadows blend the two.
Cement to blade,
    black to green,
distortion of the view.
Deep of color change,
while no atoms rearrange.

This strange phenomenon,
 this slip of dark upon,
a gift to sight,
 a shift of light,
the slow descent of day
 to night, my afternoon
repose, as shadows are imposed.

(smiles) Oh Anne, I love the sensuous imagery in this, sweet friend, seeing this before my very eyes looked like an acryllic painting to me, this has my vote, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Anne, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

love the rhythm to this and it reminds me of how I love to watch day turn to night... or night to day.
Wonderful!

Poetry in slow-motion...

Delightfully vivid and alluring--draws one in to that moment.

Warm hugs,

Rose - there is really a term for this - it really does occur - is an illusion between our eyes and the fading light - at dusk - things seem to move and change - you described this beautifully (have to get out my med books now) xxoo

As soon as it quits raining and dries up around here, you have inspired me to go for a walk and watch the afternoon shadows fade into the evening sun and shadows. Beautiful poem and I also love the imagery.

"The sidewalk is melting into grass"

What a yummy line and a great lead for
the rest of the imagery!
Well done, WhiteRose.

listen more closely.
