art by sunny

Butterfly girl, with your head in the clouds
and a glass of love's nectar at hand
Gossamer wings gently flow in the breeze
in your own secret fairytale land...

Your beckoning gaze reaches out to the sky
where your butterfly prince there awaits
In graceful smooth flight, he approaches your smile
Will you welcome his love, deemed by Fate?

One kiss from your lips is the secret wherein
all the boundaries are broken this night
'Twill open the doors to a love that will last
through eternity's endless delight...

Butterfly girl, with your head in the clouds
and your hand holding onto your dreams
Take flight with your heart, never questioning why
Love is sometimes as sweet as it seems...

I really like the last line! "Love is sometimes as sweet as it seems..." The whole thing's beautiful, and it has my vote! Wonderful write.

Sunny, this is so beautiful. Though I love
it all, you know I like the last line best....
"Love is sometimes as sweet as it seems".
Oh yes, it certainly is.

Hugs,
Ethel

Hi Enchantress, and I got the smiles from way over there!!!  Thank you so much, and glad you found it, too!

Hi BluesSerenade!! I always wondered as a kid what it would be like to be a butterfly!
My imagination hasn't grown up yet!! LOL!! Thank you for your wonderful reply...it's very appreciated!

Hi Marge...oh, my good friend, you know that I am inspired by the beauty of your work, and that's the truth!!! Thank you so much for stopping by...that is special to me!!

Hi Janet Marie, and I've been doing some work on stabalizing my meter!  As a musician, I sometimes wander when I write lyrics, and it doesn't make sense if you don't hear the notes. So, thank you, as it is nice to know that my efforts may be paying off in writing regular poetry.  I do appreciate your coming by, and your nice reply!!

Hi Phantom Poet, and I enjoyed your reply too!  I was hoping it would have a sort of breathtaking feel to it, so thank you!!

Oh is my granddaugther ever going to love this one!  I printed it out for her little book, hope you don't mind.  Lovely fantasy.  I enjoyed the rhyme as you don't do that a great deal too often.

Hello Sunnyone

This was absolutely beautiful and so very well written.  Here is a little something for you :

"Happiness is a butterfly, which,
when pursued, is always just beyond grasp,
but which, if you sit down quietly
may alight upon you."

Take care......Sue

Hi EA, and thank you!!!  Every butterfly delights in peace and light!!!

Hi Thomas, and thank you too!  Yes, the art manifested itself first, and the words wrote to the artwork...

Hi White Rose, and just absorb any way that you feel comfortable with. To me, poetry is an individual art, both for the giver and the reader.  Thank you my friend!

Hi Sue, and that was a beautiful thought!!! Thank you for such a nice reply!!

Hi littlewing, and it may very well turn into a song, as that is what I do for my main income.  Thank you so much for being here today!
