So this is love? The agonizing wreak tearing reason From mind and leaving heart to beat When she speaks and to stop Should she not. It would seem foolish of me To embrace a loss of logic Knowing I am of weak heart That might not recover from such And then be doomed to lie abed Unable to move forward or back An invalid only cared for Because of what was What then do I want with love? For I am better served in chilled glass. Dry perhaps, but still an easy draught To drain days and nights without Such burn as comes from Drinking straight of her eyes Aged well in oak that has seen fire But survived Still… Oh to be still inside And have this bleed of thought Distilled into Spirit |

Nice -- very nice. You captured the feeling and the moment exactly, and went beyond it. Taking instruction on the art of writing here..... ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

(big hugggssssss) Oh Ron, yes, one drink to remember and another to forget, and make sure you stir with a spoon of sugar! (sigh) This is touching, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ron, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Susan, thank you maam... glad you like.. there are many here that write well and many write much better than I, so it noce to hear someone say they like what you offer. Sunshine.. thank you my friend....as to whether this is what love is or not ( chuckling) I am not sure I'm qualified to answer or write about it. Ed... too kind of you to say such. Nothing to learn from me I fear... thanks for the read..and the nice words Noah... thanks kind sir..always appreciate you dropping by. Martie... goes to show what a good imagination can do. ( laughing) Hugs to you my friend. [This message has been edited by Cpat Hair (03-04-2003 09:58 AM).] |

Yes....I'd have to say this sounds like love to me, written as only you can. I agree with Martie, this is indeed one of your best. The depth incredible, heart touching, tear producing, real! Enjoyed Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Oooh, you're inspiring an idea for a poem... She raised the chilled glass high, an eye within the sun. The light within its iris infused a pale red flame. The cold case of the glass, a candle without wick. She drank away the dregs. It left wax on her lips. [This message has been edited by bsquirrel (03-04-2003 01:55 PM).] |

I may be odd - (hush) - But this reminded me of this orchard/winery where I used to live that bottled Grappa with pears in the bottles. It was so neat to see how they did that, all these wine bottles hanging on trees with a baby pear growing in each one. I'm sure so NOT what you were going for with this, but it created a lovely memory of home that I needed today. |

"Vintner" would it be? (I don't think you mean a Swedish Winter) :-) Interesting read nevertheless. w.g. |
