I grit my grinding teeth In time To jaw muscles rhythm And, Crunching rhyme. Waiting, For a sign So I can breath Again. Would you mind Giving back my heart For, Skipping to this beat Of missing An invisible you, And, Running on my spirit and soul is becoming cruel. Let's play No, never mind I'd rather be A healthy pink Than Holding breath blue. And, So what If I'm in love with you. You were just a dream. Not come true, But, I do need to smile, so I'll fly the flight of wounded And sing love's song awhile To the universal shore A broken heart, beguiled. Listen to my heartbeat's rhythm Glad it's free once more You were soul flirting with my mind Mere vagabond of poet's lore. Please, go upon hell's happy way I'll grab grace's grin, be healed You a shallow, shifting shadow But a ghost in my mind's reveal. . . . . ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

nicely done... it changes in form and flow towards the end..as if the proccess itself of thought changes with it... the content... a wishful want...of self rejecting/denial... powerful stuff in that it mirors many of lifes issues... and the conflicts internally they bring on... good Write Pat.. I anjoyed |

Thanks Karilea. Was unsure of whether to post this as two separate poems. Neither seemed special enough to post alone, and the last rhyming part was written immediately after the first. So...two poems in one. Thanks agin for your time in reading and replying. I do appreciate it. Hugs, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Cpat, Yes, it does change in form and flow and thought. Though I beg to differ on your assessment of content, if I do look at it from a self-rejecting/denial point of view, it initally makes me laugh, but I can see what you might mean; tho. that was not and is not my intent. That it mirrors many of life's issues, probably true, and, again, suppose it could reflect internal conflicts. A young neighbor visited me for awhile and she is smitten with someone who works at same company. She is quite heart sick.....for he hasn't made much, to very little, attempt to get involved, yet she (thinks) she is madly in love. This poem came about after her visit with me, and my sugestion to her to let it go awhile. I enjoy other people's thoughts regarding poetry....thank you. Sy, Thanks for reading and the respond. Hugs to you both, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

(sigh) Oh Patricia, this is very heartfelt, sweet friend, this deeply touched my heart as I know loving a ghost ever so much too! (sad sigh) Let the shadows cross the room and give way to the light sifting through the creak of the door, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Patricia, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Pat, I like the way you seem to be able to go into someone else's mind and write their thoughts (referring to your comment to Capt. Ron's reply). That really takes talent, friend....which you have a lot of. heart Hugs, Ethel |

Cpat/Ron...hope I didn't sound like I take what you say for granted. I do appreciate someone with your talent and know-how to take the time to answer in depth. I guess defining self-rejecting/denial would be important before I really tried applying it.. I am always grateful when you answer in length.Thank You. Noah, Thanks for responding. May love and light always shine upon you, too. Raph, Thank you for the awesome. Means a lot that you took your time to read and respond. Dixie, And you managed to make no comment about the shadow....smiling here...this one much different than passing... thanks for reading... rkcraig New here, I think I've read one or two of your poems and I'll make it a point to check them out. Glad you liked the layout and thank you for your reply. Vandana, Thanks.... Ethel, She told me her thoughts and it isn't unlike empathy, which you too have, no doubt. Try it! I simply use I, putting myself in her place instead of she in most of my poems. Thanks for your comments. Linda, Thansk re: getting into the heart of the matter. Yes, I do that. As do you.. It takes one to know one... smiling here... Ed, Thanks for the very nice. Kinda a universal feeling...think we've all been there at some point. Hugs to you all, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Pat, loveeee this! Especially the first part, of course you know I'll like any poem about breath.. and holding breath, waiting to breath, powerful and.. don't worry, I'm still breathin' here. But these lines here just give me a somewhat smiley chill. Maybe its because I understand.. maybe because I don't, not sure... : "Waiting, For a sign So I can breath Again." great! Always, Alyssa - And so it was that time stood still - |

Alyssa, Cpat was right. You are proof this poem can be taken in many ways, at least that first part. I am so sorry for the daily pain you go through. Has the people in your church tried any hand's on healing, being that you are under doctor's care, so it wouldn't be like religions who won't getmedical help. Have you tried it yourself, in the name of Chirst? I am very serious. I've done it myself, and if it's His will, he'll help and heal....Sure this sounds strange to anyone who is not familiar with such... Thanks for your reply, glad you could relate. You are in my prayers, Hugs, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Your poem deserves two replies! I'll point out my second favorite line, too: "I grit my grinding teeth In time To jaw muscles rhythm And, Crunching rhyme." 'everything I do is with some kind of rhythm.. usually my breathing and hearts beat. whenever I get the strength, I do it! Love this. And to answer your questions, yes.. they've prayed over me and with me, as a hands on healing. And I've been anointed with oil. And yes, I've prayed it myself.. ahh many times. It seems He's saying wait. Guess I still have more to learn. I'm thinking Job's trials and Paul's thorn in the flesh... works good after you about die lol! Thank you for prayers, here's some for you. Love ya Always, Alyssa - And so it was that time stood still - |

Alyssa, I too, have an ongoing medical problem which effects 'everything' I do, and limits me considerably. I had to grin at your reference to Paul's thorn, for often I have thought the same thing. You, however, are just plain too young to be going through such difficulty. There, now that I've played God I feel much better. Smiling here. Heart felt hugs and love to you. Michele, What wonderful things you said. Sorry, about your shallow shadow man. Hugs, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Phantom Poet, Sorry, don't remember your name yet, but thank you for taking the time to read and reply. Glad you enjoyed this and the thoughts. Alyssa (aged 15) and I usually have a little more than usual to say to one another. Smiles here. She suffers with migraines and can see why she could relate to the first part of this poem. Gemma, What an awesome thing to say. How sweet of you. If you could see my struggle getting lines right, with umpteen drafts for a short poem, you'd grin....Only been seriously writing a short while. So your compliment means a great deal. But, I'm not that good. Some topics better than others. Happy week-end and thank you. You made my day, Hugs and love, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Oh I do love this... it is a fine piece of work and I loved the cadence, the up and down and the way it flows when read. Two poems in one works well here! Yep... I really love it! |

Icequeen, Thank you. Glad you mentioned the two poems and that they do work. I was really unsure; I simply have a hard time critiquing my own, (or anyone's) work. Again, thanks and glad you like this. You have 153 posts and I don't think I've read you, for I would have remembered your username. I'll look for your work. Pat~ These comments are my honest OPINION ... not 'judgements' in any way ! I'm coming back in on this one to say that you are one remarkable FRIEND ! You've faced unfair adversity and still rise above those who would put you down~ You ARE BRIGHT !! You ARE SPIRITUAL !! You ARE FRIENDSHIP TRUE !! Those who would hurt you intentionally just don't know what 'true friendship' means. Friendship works two ways ... give and take, I believe you have demonstrated fairly your side of that coin. I pray continually for you and even harder for those who feel it is their purpose to deny your friendship for their own selfish movtives. God help them ... for He has already helped you by showing you their true colors. I have read EVERY poem by you ... EVERY comment by others ... EVERY response by you ... (yes, even the deleted ones). You've suffered enough, my friend. Go and be free ! You were wronged and it appears that those throwing stones should see themselves as God will see them. It is MY OPINION that God is a greater leveler in life than others may be aware of. I am true friend .. I will not leave you in your time of need. He has given me the gift of your hand in mine ... I treasure that. My God further bless you and enrich your life, my friend~ Whatever path you take ... keep writing ... you have things that need to be share with others~ Sincerely~ ~*Marge*~ Okay ? ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |
