I can't believe the mentality of some people here.....what the hell is wrong with folks????? Because I write something steamy for FUN they ASSUME that I have something "going" with another poet.....GIVE ME A FREAKIN BREAK!!!! I am not in Jr. High anymore.....and these childish games are outright idiotic.....what? do you have nothing better to do with your lives? Are you so pathetic that you need to talk about someone else to make you feel better about you?! What the hell is that?!?! In all my time here, I have NEVER talked crap about someone else....certainly not something I wouldn't say directly to the person....I really don't get it.....and ya know what else.............it hurts.....there is no reason for it! It is called POETRY!!!!! I was inspired to write so I wrote.......where is the problem there? I really enjoy having fun and joking and teasing back and forth....I'm not serious.....good grief people.....this isn't a freakin SOAP OPERA......it's just poetry......people that feel the need to run their mouths about me can email me directly and I will clue you in.......if you don't have class enough to do that then I suggest you SHUT THE FREAKIN HELL UP!!! ~SEA [This message has been edited by Alicat (edited 06-01-2001).] |

Who are you and what have you done with Susan????? Now on a serious note....man you sound like you needed to get that off your chest. Adults acting like children really get to me as well. We're not in grade, junior or high school anymore, and we should ACT like it! Just because someone is a certain age does not make them mature. That's determined by actions. Even so, there are some people who need to start acting their age, even if it's just chronological age, and grow up. It's just sickening to see someone who should be a rational adult acting like a little kid! |

Now THIS is what the Alley if for....and thanks for coming here SEA. *comf* I well understand your angst, for on many occasions I've had to insert disclaimers at the bottom of my poetry to the effect that it was a work of fiction and had no basis on my life or the lives of any others, or that no actual people/animals/vegetables/minerals/other were harmed during the writing of the poem. I've gotta say that is one of my biggest peeves...and one you've addressed rather well, if not bluntly. Hope things ease up for you, and never forget to keep writing for self. |

The problem with visiting a site upon which so many relationships have been forged is that you become suspect if you so much as extend a hand in friendship ... Yes, there ARE married people who flirt on these boards ... I would go so far as to say that they "search" on these boards (I won't mention names -- you know who you are). You, my dear, are NOT one of them (you are married, are you not? Sometimes the old noggin leaks -- LOL). Unfortunately, however, sometimes we must pay the price for others' misdeeds ... *g* My view on this is: as long as you and your significant other know there is nothing of substance going on, who CARES what the tabloid masses think? *wink* Linda ... what if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about ...? |

I'm tired of it too...but here is a funny story, after posting one poem I got an e-mail from a shocked poet wanting to know how I KNEW about a certain "hush hush" liason--and well, the joke is, that I didn't of course, until THEN! Don't let it get you down, some people are just seriously bored. |

I have had it too! This has happened to me personally, so I KNOW what you are speaking of. I know it's all in fun. I'm married too, and spend about 20 hours a day alone and the interaction is well, fun!!!! I'm sick of people thinking a poem is a "come on" to another poet or if I happen to choose blue eyes it means something or green eyes it means something..it's bulls...if you know what I mean..and a rose gets riled too. It sickens me, and I think I've held my comments to this thread long enough watching all the sarcasm and bull flying around here! If you have something to say, then by all means, YELL IT OUT LOUD! Thats what this place is for, right? Geesh...Ohh..whats THAT? Don't want your personal business or thoughts with your friendships aired? OH MY GEESH!! Well then..stop making vague comments and say what you have to say or just leave the whole issue alone. In the end, what I'm saying here is that EVERYONE is judging in some sort of way about someone else's behavior on this site. Its for poetry and whatever else people make of it, and if you don't like whats going on or what you think is going on then there is plenty of other room to read and there is always somewhere else to turn your head to. (and no, I'm not talking about another site) Now, let us cast stones if that is the way it is to be! Anyone else here never been guilty of some mistake in their lives? I dare you to say that you have been mistake free all of your lives for I will be the first to stand up and say I know you lie! We are ALL guilty of something or another. Oh well..I don't know how clear I was, but that certainly felt better. Ignore me..go on. I don't give a...YANNO..okay! Just needed to get this off of my chest for the sake of a lot of people who have been victim to the rumor wheel and the judgers of the rumor mill equally! Severn, I can accept that part..being human, but I think we could make a concious effort if we are going to wonder, not to judge when we find out or draw our conclusions. And if we have thoughts, then why not speak them instead of wasting time being sarcastic and making vague comments? |

Okay, so everyone else can whine and say.."oohh..we're all humans!Forgive us..oh please even though we don't choose to try and change" Well the fact is that I think even saying "Well we're only human." is overused and particularly used to make excuses so we can be as much of a part of this seemingly empty, self involved, mickey mouse race of a society (wherever you happen to live). It is an excuse not to try and change and grow out of what the rest of the world already expects out of humans these days. I don't always succeed, but I do try every day to grow beyond the meager expectations of an increasingly shallow world of society. I'm not even sure "society" is the word I am looking for at this point to describe the whole of an attitude. *sigh* I hope I'm making some sense. All said, I think the "But, we're only human" saying is a lazy excuse for a hell of a lot of people who can't be bothered to surpass such expectations. Perhaps it didn't use to be, but now it is. |

I have read the responses to this thread with interest and I can't say I've noticed any sarcasm or rumours going on in any of the forums, I have to say that I am not here regularly and there are probably as many reasons for being part of Passions as there are people using it, if someone was to be disrespectful or unkind to me on here I don't think it would affect me or the people I love very much, after all we all have a choice each computer is equiped with an off button and we can all choose to take on board or ignore comments that we feel are hurtful or insulting. The problem with text sometimes is that we just get the words and not the feelings behind them, this too can cause misunderstanding. May I personally say if I EVER have a question or concern I would definitely address it in a personal e-mail, I feel my replies have always been strictly on the poem per say at least I strive for them to be that way. That's what personal e-mails are for but from now on I'm not really corresponding with other poets on a personal level, I have too much going in my own life to worry or be concerned with anything anyone is doing....let them do what they wish! My poetry is written for one reason, to display my love for nature, my romantic side and well, the different forms of poetry I have come to study and love. I'm not perfect either and sure I've wondered but I don't make an issue of it in the forum, if I have someone take me to task for it.amen.Kathleen Blake |

I know I'm all late on this, but I just thought I'd throw in my two scents. The problem is people take all of this too seriously. Or else they get so bored that they start things just to spice things up. I'm in high school and I know some freshmen better behaved than that. I mean how hard is it to just keep your mouth shut? *sighs* And the "funny"/"stupid" thing is that you get the people who gossip complain about other people who run their mouth. It's sad really. Oh well, I don't let it bother me. I couldn't care less. I know it bothers you SEA, but you shouldn't worry about them. The fustration isn't worth it. Glad you let that all out. *hugs* Oh, and I may have my opinions and judgements, but I can honestly say that whenever someone has stabbed me in the back with rumors or lies and then later needed help...not necessarily from me..but just needed help...I have been there. I may not be the best person, whatever that is, but I've almost done whatever I could to help whether friend or foe. And if that doesn't count for something, then somebody tell me what does. wow.......is all I can say after reading all of this. I never notice anything going on...I must not pay good enough attention. I delight in the poetry writing and reading end of this site...so I guess I miss out on much of whatever the I am sorry SEA if something has happened to upset you or any others on here. Many things can be misinterpreted in the English language but being hurtful is not acceptable. I learned this the hard way once on here and only look for the good in each on here.
