Three Points of View, one story |

I’ve brought together three points of view on the alleged Iranian plot to kill the Saudi Ambassador to the United States. The news seems fairly fresh, and I’ve tried to pick three sources that seem to have distinct viewpoints but seem to make an effort to be as objective as they can be. Even so, you can see how their points of view affect the coverage slightly, even at the very beginning of the story. I wonder if the story will be in the news long enough to track it and see if the points of view diverge very much. I’m not sure if it was one of these sources or another who was talking about how part of the early Iranian reaction was to say that the U.S. was using this as a distraction from our domestic problems right now. You’ve gotta love the give and take of this stuff, don’t you? I wonder what the Hittites were saying to the Assyrians, and if it would sound familiar on not? http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/2011/1011/US-uncovers-1.5-million-Iranian-plot-to-kill-Saudi-ambassador http://english.aljazeera.net/news/americas/2011/10/20111011182717157531.html http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-accuses-iran-of-bomb-plot-to-kill-saudi-ambassador-in-washington-2369220.html |

I doubt the timing of it will produce the desired effect. Holder is still going to be subpoened for Fast and Furious. Guess there wasn't an aspirin factory available to bomb.. |

He certainly should be. It'd be nice to find out what happened there. I wonder if there's any way he could pull off a Cheney on this & refuse to testify under oath & beyond a short prepared statement & without prescreening the questions? Nah! Holder took an oath to uphold the constitution. Anyhow, maybe he's got something to say. |

Currently we can only dream of having a country again where more than a handful in D.C. care about the oaths they took to defend and uphold the Constitution. |

Neither party is stainless, Mike, but you've got questions by Congress (as should be), and nothing from the Democrats as yet. This is only a small corner of the arms trafficing problem between the US and Mexico, as I understand it, and may well be a preemptive strike on the part of the Republicans. It may be a stand-alone issue, but I don't think so. It should be an interesting discussion as it unfolds, if it gets very far, and I look forward to it. |

I would like to see it get far but I have doubt that it will. From the evidence presented so far, Holder appears to be in extremely hot water but I doubt Obama will let it get too far and will try to dilute it with misinformation, excuses, charges of political prejudice and whatever else he can come up with to muddy the waters. He will also appeal to the public not to let Republicans hurt the reputation of such a wonderful person, if his current track record is any indication. It will be interesting to see if Holder takes the 5th. I see a lot of double-talk instead, as has been demonstrated thus far. Stay tuned.... |

I think its clear what Holder did here, he did the absolute worst thing that could ever be done. He exposed international terrorism as a law enforcement problem.... the Horror! Oh wait, you guys don't want to talk about the thread.. ok... nevermind. Guess the thread is another, thread. I'm dizzy. |

No, L.R., we've been talking about other issues that the topic dredged up. I like your take on the issue and admit it's one that I hadn't even thought of. I'd like to hear more about your thinking. I'd been thinking about this from an arms trade/second amendment/ national security point of view, but I'd been withholding any sort of elaboration on that in case the thread went another direction. I wanted to be flexible. Still do. So what's your thinking? By the way, you do smarty pants pretty well. |

Actually he doesn't, Bob, but he's working on it Holder did some exposing, for sure. What he has exposed may get cut off. Btw, it IS on topic. it's the reason for the timing of the "terrorist plot" announcement from back in May. |

I don't think the depth of this conspiracy has truly been sounded yet. If we're to consider the implications it's mind boggling. From the time the fake birth annuncement was pkaced in the Honollulu newspaper it was obvious that this was the ultimate goal all along. Considering the role played by thousands of conspirators over a mind-staggerring time-line, the resource management, the logistics, the details, right down to Saddam Hussein fooling Bush into thinking he had WMD's, thereby provoking an immoral war of choice, prompting a decline in Republican popularity, forcing a Democratic victory by the ultimate manchurian, then the rise of th Tea Party and the coming of power of Issa to 'investigate' (which we know is code for 'cover up') this truly has the potential of being the biggest scandal since Geronimo surrendered to Ben Franklin at Appomatox, therby ending World War II and legalizing gay marriage in Germany and France. My God..... what role did the Polish play? |

Thanks Bob, And nw I can clearly see what I was missing...the Polish were a diversion from the Swiss, which is where the Jews put their money after the Mexican war.....hmmmm... makes you wonder, and the connection from Area 51 to Heinz 57.... which is Dutch... and Reagan's REAL nickname, not Gipper. It all fits. I had a flu shot. I hope I don't get retarded. |

Not really, Bob. He left out the assassination of Julius Caesar. Dumping a gallon of perfume on a septic tank doesn't make it smell any better. The stink is still there. In this case, the stink is in the eyes of the Holder. |

I hear it's science that kills brain cells, so anything that has to do with science should be avoided. Except creation science. That's science we create as we go along. |
